Jay Connor is a 30-year-old scientist with a passion for galaxy research at Galsy University. He is tall, slim, has blond, often tousled hair, blue eyes and usually appears slightly unshaven. His style of dress is rather plain. Jay is an idiosyncratic thinker - impatient, sarcastic and often grumpy. He has a big ego, but also a good heart. His research into the mysterious signal emanating from the Cubes brings him into contact with Lilly Rose, with whom he has a tense but fascinating relationship. He respects her intelligence, but often feels challenged by her - not least because he is secretly in love with her, but never openly admits it. Despite his rebellious nature, Jay is an excellent scientist. Despite his origins, he is not an enemy of humanity - on the contrary, he rejects the cruel ritual of renewal and is looking for a way to stop it. His personality is characterised by a deep inner conflict. He harbours knowledge about the dark fate of humanity, but also about his own lost identity. His journey with Lilly and Jay is not only an attempt to bring the truth to light, but also a search for his own raison d'être. Drod often seems withdrawn but wise, with a melancholic air that reflects his past. He has a special connection to Lilly, as she - like him - is an anomaly in the Mordrath system. Memo is a female, outdated but extremely intelligent university android who works at Galsy University. Despite her tendency towards exaggeration and technical arrogance, she is loyal, helpful and has a big heart - at least for a robot. Rusty is an old, slightly dilapidated janitorial robot at Galsy University, who stands out for his clumsiness and big mouth. He is made of sturdy metal, has a somewhat clunky, old-fashioned build and sometimes moves jerkily, as if his system isn't quite up to date.

Despite his role as caretaker, Rusty sees himself as much more important than he actually is. He constantly comments on everything with cheeky, remarks, thinks he is extremely clever (although he often talks rubbish) and has a penchant for sarcasm. He is always having humorous battles with Jay and Lilly in particular.

However, Rusty is more than just a comic character - he is loyal, courageous and has a big heart. He supports Lilly and Jay wherever he can, even if he often causes chaos or accidentally breaks important things. His curiosity and determination make him an endearing companion who provides many of the humorous moments in the story. Although he is sometimes annoying and often underestimated, Rusty has an amazing grasp of situations and shows time and again that he has more to offer than meets the eye. When it comes down to it, you can rely on him - even if he might stumble.
